Brendan Jacklin (ext. 203), Piano, currently based in Ann Arbor MI, is an active performer, teacher, new music advocate, and adjudicator. As an avid performer of contemporary music, he has premiered dozens of pieces, and has worked with composers such as David Lang, Missy Mazzoli, Libby Larsen, Jorge Cordoba, and Nicole Lizée. He has performed across North America and Europe, presenting solo and chamber recitals. Outside of performing, Brendan has published articles in American Music Teacher, and presented at conferences across the United States.
Brendan is currently completing his doctoral studies at he University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, with cognates in pedagogy and multimedia music and studying with Prof. Awadagin Pratt and Dr. Michelle Conda. He previously completed his MMus at Bowling Green State University with Dr. Thomas Rosenkranz and his BMus at Brandon University with Prof. Megumi Masaki, and minors in violoncello and history.
