Join us for a FREE online lecture with FSPA Piano Instructor, Roger Jones, as he discusses ‘The Impact of African American Music on American Culture’. Explore the music and lives of Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Andrae Crouch, Miles Davis. John Coltrane, Berry Gordy/Motown and James Brown. Roger has performed professionally in the US, Europe, Turkey and Japan and is the leader of Roger Jones and" Higher Calling" and "Trioisms. Some of his favorites include Miles Davis and John Coltrane. His pianistic influences are Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, and Kenny Kirkland.
