Dr. Dilek Engin Stolarchuk is Flint School of Performing Arts' String Department Chair and has taught violin/viola at FSPA since September 2018. Dr. Engin enjoys a successful career teaching and performing throughout Turkey, Europe and the United States. She serves as Faculty at Michigan State University, in addition to teaching at Blue Lake Fine Arts and Interlochen, among others.
Dr. Engin is from Istanbul, Turkey where she earned her B.A. degree from Istanbul University State Conservatory. She studied with Çigdem Altaş Epikmen and Venyamin Varsavsky from 1992 until 2003. She received her M.M. degree from Marshall University, where she studied with Dr. Elizabeth Reed Smith, and her D.M.A from Michigan State University, where she studied with I-Fu Wang.
She performed with Cemal Resit Rey Symphony Orchestra, won the Mediterranean Young Symphony Orchestra, and performed in many masterclasses, festivals, and as a guest artist throughout the world.
Currently, Dr. Engin performs (orchestral, chamber, and festival) and teaches throughout Michigan, Ohio, and Missouri.
