Jarel D. Waters, originally from Flint, Michigan, began his dance training at age three with a focus on Tap and for a few terms was able to study Ballet at the FSPA while attending Flint Southwestern Academy. During that time, Mr. Waters was able to study and work with Savion Glover, Dianne "Lady Di' Walker, Dr. Jimmy Slyde and many other notable tap dancers as an original member of The Flintstone Hoofers. Mr. Waters received his BFA in Dance Performance from The University of Michigan, has trained at The Ailey School in NYC, and intensively studied the Dunham technique under the mentorship of Madame Penny Godboldo of Detroit. After graduating from college, Mr. Waters worked with The Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, Ronald K. Brown/Evidence: A Dance Company, and Forces of Nature Dance Theatre. Mr. Waters recently moved back to Flint to share what he has learned around the globe to his hometown community.
