Jennifer Orkisz, Conductor of The Flint Youth Festival Chorus, has taught vocal music in public schools for twenty one years. She holds several degrees: Oakland University (Bachelor of Music Education), Oakland University (Master of Music: Conducting under Dr. Michael Mitchell) and the University of Michigan (Master of Public Administration: Educational Leadership).

In addition to teaching at FSPA, Jennifer is the current choral director at Davison High School, where she teaches vocal music, piano keyboarding and directs the annual musical. With her high school students, she has performed at Disney World, New York and Chicago Orchestra Hall. Jennifer was the conductor for the Lapeer County Concert Choir (2006-2007) and performed with Friends of the Opera Michigan (F.O.T.O.) She is a proud member of the Michigan School Vocal Music Association and the American Choral Directors Association.
