Samvel Arakelyan

(ext. 225) Born in 1986 in Yerevan, Armenia, Mr. Samvel Arakelyan began playing violin and piano at the age of six at the Lazar Saryan Music School. After graduating with honors, he continued his studies for another two years at the well-known Tchaikovsky School of Music. In 2003, he was accepted to the Yerevan State Conservatory with a full scholarship. During his studies, he has appeared in numerous recitals in countries in Europe, and the US and Russia.

In 2011 Samvel was accepted to Michigan State University, where he did his graduate studies with Dmitri Berlinsky. Currently, he is pursuing a PHD degree at the Michigan State University. He is part of International Chamber Soloists led by Dmitri Berlinsky.

Samvel was a recipient of an AGBU scholarship, Romeo Tata Fellowships, ARA scholarship and others, and has performed in such famous halls as Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall in New York, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Tchaykovski Big Hall in Moscow and others. Samvel took masterclasses with such famous artists and teachers as Viktor Danchenko, Mikhail Bezverkhni , Frank Almond and others.

He regularly performs throughout Michigan and Illinois with orchestras such as Battle Creek Symphony, Lansing Symphony, Traverse Symphony, Alma Symphony, Midland Symphony, West Michigan Symphony Orchestra and others.
